À propos de l'événement

The Physics in Animation workshop will explore a variety of topics on the fundamentals of space, including the solar system, the lunar cycle, stars, and space involvement.

Class 1: Dynamics

Class 2: Kinematics

Class 3: Matter and Energy

Dynamics: This first class, Dynamics, covers Newton’s three laws and what they mean, defining these laws in a way that will make sense for the kids to understand. The artwork for this is an animation of someone pushing a box, a concept that seems simple enough but draws upon all three of Newton’s Laws for an effective way to illustrate the information taught in class. Students will be able to learn more about how objects interact with each other the way they do, and come out of the class being able to visualize and understand the physical factors of these objects.

Kinematics: This second class will be about motion and speed, to define and describe terms such as kinematics, velocity, acceleration and vectors. The animation to visualize this class will be of a car speeding up and slowing down, the technicals of which will be used to help define the terms taught in the class. Students will leave the class with ample understanding of how motion works and is defined through physics, understanding that is beneficial to them for possible future involvement in this branch of science.

Matter and Energy: This third and final class will dive into the different types of matter and categories of energy, defining them in detail. The artwork will be an ice cream cone animated to melt, demonstrating the concepts taught within the class through an understanding of why this object acts as it does. Students will come out of the class with deeper knowledge of objects in the world around them and explanations for how things are the way they are.
